Funding opportunities for early cancer diagnosis research

A number of research opportunities are available through the National Awareness and Early Diagnosis Initiative (NAEDI) for those working to improve early diagnosis of cancer.

Expressions of interest are invited from CCGs and providers for pilots to test new diagnostic pathways for patients with non-specific but concerning symptoms. This is part of the ACE (Accelerate, Coordinate, Evaluate) programme which was initiated by NHS England and supported by Macmillan Cancer Support and Cancer Research UK to help improve GP access to diagnostics and early diagnosis.

There is also a call for applications for an early diagnosis workshop looking at how technology can help diagnose cancer earlier. The workshop is being held on 14-16 December 2015 and the deadline for applications is 5pm on 21 September 2015.

More information on both of these opportunities is in the NAEDI newsletter available here.
