Reducing the consequences of breast cancer treatment

The long term consequences of cancer and its treatments were featured at the LCA breast clinical forum on 10 March 2015. There is a growing evidence base specific to breast cancer and its treatments which show how healthy lifestyle choices can have an impact on the after effects of cancer treatment and prevent or reduce complications.

Professor Robert Thomas provided an exciting overview of the evidence for dietary and physical activity interventions after cancer, while Dr Anna Kirby discussed survivorship issues following breast radiotherapy. The forum closed with an update by Susan Cleator on the San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium and its potential impact on LCA Breast Cancer Clinical Guidelines.

The presentations are available below.
