Workshop on enhanced recovery after cancer treatment

The LCA is hosting a workshop on enhanced recovery and how it can be used for those undergoing treatment for head and neck, gynaecological, oesophago-gastric, HPB or colorectal cancer. The workshop is on Wednesday 4 March 2015 from 9am-1pm at Central Hall Westminster, Storeys Gate, London SW1H 9NH.

The workshop will be of particular interest to surgeons, clinical nurse specialists, AHPs and all those who will be involved in implementing enhanced recovery at their Trust.

Enhanced recovery aims to improve patient outcomes and speed recovery, reduce length of hospital stay, and reduce the risk of contracting hospital infections. It also helps increase the number of patients able to be treated within the current level of resource.

At the LCA Enhanced Recovery Workshop, attendees will have an opportunity to learn from best practice and gain a greater understanding of how enhanced recovery can be applied to the tumour pathways. A roundtable discussion will provide each tumour group with the opportunity to develop their own plan and timescales for implementing enhanced recovery.
