Surveillance of high risk HCC patients

The inaugural HPB clinical forum focused on issues relating to implementing an LCA-wide approach to the surveillance of high risk hepato-cellular carcinoma (HCC) patients. Gastroenterologists Dr Matthew Foxton from King's College Hospital NHS Trust and Dr Dan Forton from St George's Healthcare NHS Trust, introduced the breakout session on how to take forward the Model of Care recommendation to create a robust surveillance programme for these patients. Delegates were tasked with discussing the pitfalls and strengths of three proposed scenarios for management, which provided the pathway group with positive direction.
